How it works
Frequency conversions route through hertz (Hz = 1 cycle per second). Rotations per minute (RPM) convert to Hz by dividing by 60: 60 RPM = 1 Hz, 3,600 RPM = 60 Hz (typical car engine at cruising speed). To go the other way, multiply Hz by 60.
Kilohertz (kHz), megahertz (MHz), and gigahertz (GHz) are simply powers of 1,000: 1 GHz = 1,000 MHz = 1,000,000 kHz = 1,000,000,000 Hz. This tool also handles angular frequency in radians per second (rad/s): multiply Hz by 2π, so 60 Hz ≈ 376.99 rad/s.
