Work Hours Calculator
Enter clock-in and clock-out for each day, subtract breaks, and see your weekly sum — decimal hours for payroll.
How to use this
Enter clock-in and clock-out for each day in 24-hour format. The break field is minutes you took for lunch — we subtract it automatically. If you split a shift, add two rows for the same day. The weekly decimal hours field matches exactly what payroll systems expect (37h 30m = 37.50).
Overtime
We show total hours only — overtime pay rates are your employer's job (1.5× for hours over 40 in a week in the US). For freelance or consulting, this is your billable time — subtract non-billable (admin, meetings, email) if you track billable vs raw separately.
Frequently asked questions
Decimal hours for payroll?
We show this in the "Decimal hours" field. Payroll systems almost always use decimal, not hours/minutes.
Work through lunch?
Enter 0 for break minutes — we assume you worked the entire span.
Is this a timesheet?
It is a calculator — nothing is saved. Reload and entries are gone. Copy the result into a spreadsheet or use a dedicated time-tracking app if you need persistence.
Why does a day show "--"?
Either In or Out blank, or Out before In. Fix the times and it populates.
Monthly totals?
Not yet — add up to ~22 workdays per month in the rows and sum manually. A monthly mode may come later.
