📊 Reference Ranges

•Normal corrected calcium: 8.5-10.5 mg/dL (2.1-2.6 mmol/L)
•Hypocalcemia: <8.5 mg/dL
•Hypercalcemia: >10.5 mg/dL

💡 Clinical Notes

•Each 1 g/dL decrease in albumin = 0.8 mg/dL increase in "true" calcium
•For critically ill patients, ionized calcium is preferred
•Consider ionized calcium when clinical suspicion is high
