Predictions use the Riegel formula (T2 = T1 × (D2/D1)1.06), which accounts for fatigue at longer distances. Actual race performance depends on fitness, conditions, terrain, and training. Use these as orientation targets, not guarantees.

How to use this calculator

  • From a race time: Select the distance you ran, enter your finish time, and see predicted times for all standard distances.
  • From a target pace: Enter the pace you can sustain (e.g. from a recent training run) and see what race times it predicts.
  • Riegel formula: T2 = T1 × (D2/D1)1.06 — adjusts for the physiological reality that pace slows predictably over longer distances.
  • The half marathon and marathon predictions assume a reasonably trained runner; elite athletes will outperform the formula at longer distances.
